The very popular resort of Benidorm with a theme park, water park, world class entertainment along with a long promenade is app 25 km away. Inland from Alcalali is the city of Alcoy (35km)which has the longest running Moors and Christian parade in Spain. The vibrant city of Valencia with the largest aquarium in Europe and a beautiful port area which was the host for the 2011 Amercas Cup is app 80 km distant. The area has numerous marked hiking trails a list of which is available from the tourist info in Jalon. For the slightly more adventurous there is also rock climbing and pot-holing in the area. The annual fiestas take place the last week of June and also San Migual in August. In the months of July and August there is usually a fiesta in a village nearby. There is a large municipal swimming pool including a kiddies pool a short 5 minute walk from the village. In short there is plenty of things to do if one gets bored with sitting around the house reading a book.
