Spain‘s white coast

The “white coast” around the port town of Alicante owes its name to the traditional white washed houses found in this region. Equally though the long white sandy beaches are a feature of Costa Blanca.
Many towns and villages have sought to retain their typical traditional character and limit the effects of mass tourism as much as possible. Here Denia can be given as an example which is a town full of vitality and colour. On a hill one is able to find the ruins of a castle from where one also has a fantastic view over the town and marina. A small fishing village fits into the picturesque setting of the town. When the fishers return back in the evening one is able to witness the turbulent scenes of a traditional fish market. The caught crawfish are appreciated beyond the boundaries of this city. Probably one of the most well known towns along the Costa Blanca is Benidorm. Enticed by the extensive bay and sheer endless overtures to revellers the place welcomes around 4 million tourists each year. Also a very popular resort is Calpe that is situated at the sea near a steep volcano rock. A particularly interesting day trip would be the park El Palmeral in Elche that has more than 200,000 palm trees and is the largest palm garden in the world. The palm trees blend in perfectly with the townscape of Elche and at a distance you would think it is actually a forest.

    Omdat het appartement wat afgelegen ligt moet overal de auto voor gepakt worden. Voor (kleine) kinderen is dit geen plaats om te zijn.

    Voor de afrit vanuit Altea is een supermarkt en een restaurant. Beneden in de haven zijn meer restaurants waar je terecht kunt (geen ervaring mee). Stranden zijn hier geen optie om te zonnebaden, te ver lopen en ruwe kiezels dus moet je weer van alles meenemen

    Binnen een straal van 40 km veel te zien zoals bv Benissa, Javiera, Denia, Gata de Gorges, en natuurlijk Benidorm. Wat verder weg Alicante Murcia En Valencia

    Man braucht für alles ein Auto. Aber das war uns ja bewusst und ist auch extra so von uns gewählt. Für uns bietet die Region um Altea alles was wir im Urlaub brauchen. In Altea gibt es einige gute gastronomische Angebote, in Benidorm gibt es viele Freizeitparks, es gibt schöne kleine Strände in der näheren Umgebung. Für uns eine tolle Region.

    Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in 10 Gehminuten erreichbar und ausreichend vorhanden. Der Ort Altea hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Besonders abends an der Kirche war es sehr romantisch. Dort gibt es schöne Restaurants und kleine Geschäfte zum Bummeln. Insgesamt ist es sehr schön an der Costa Blanca und es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall dort Urlaub zu machen.

    Le soir aller boire un Mojito ou une Aqua de Valencia au "Café y Galeria" sur le front de mer d'Altéa. Installé dans des fauteuils ou canapés équipés d'oreillers géants: le service est divin! Aller désuster un plat de Tapas à la "Tabléria", le patron est français et vraiment accueillant!

    Visiter Guadalest, Altea la Vella, Callosa d'en Sarra. Faire une escapade jusqu'à l'île de Tabarca (via Santa Pola). Incontournables plages de Villajoisa et le l'Albir.

    Altea selbst hat eine idyllische malerische Altstadt und eine schöne Kirche. Vielseitige Gastronomie und Läden in der Altstadt, an der Hauptstrasse und am Strand. Grosses Einkaufszentrum vom Haus in 5 minütiger Autofahrt erreichbar. Wer absolut perfekte, feinsandige Strände sucht und sich durch Hotelburgen im Hochhausformat nicht stören lässt wird nach ca. 30-minütiger Autofahrt in Benidorm fündig (in Altea z.T mit Kieseln). Preise aufgrund Euro-Schwäche für Schweizer tief, wobei Altea preisniveaumässig zwischen Benidorm (höher) und Villajoyosa (tiefer) liegt, wobei Altea von allen dreien das schönste Ortsbild hat. Sport- und Freizeitmöglichkeiten in Altea sehr vielseitig und was fehlt gibt es bestimmt in Benidorm . Die Costa Blanca ist reich an Sehenswürdigkeiten, die gut erreichbar sind. Die Einheimischen an der Costa Blanca sind generell sehr kinderfreundlich.
