Many sights in beautiful nature

Enjoy far away from the strain and stresses of everyday life the landscape of the Black Forest with its enchanting nature and idyllic small towns. Stroll through the alleys of pretty timber house villages, discover what the next valley holds for secrets or enjoy the view from one of the many viewpoints. That is the Black Forest. It is quite difficult to pick and select from so much nature and cultural diversity. Well known highlights include the Feldberg which with 1,493 metres is the highest mountain in Baden-Wuerttemberg and on a good day you have an unrivalled panoramic view across the Alps, Vosges and Swabian Alb. Also Titisee and Schluchsee with their water sport activities within an enticing scenic setting are a tourist highlight. The Triberg Waterfalls near Gutach are quite a spectacle and with 163 metres it is the highest waterfall in Germany. In Gutach you can also visit the open air museum Vogtsbauernhof where the originally preserved Black Forest village takes you back in time. Many of the towns and villages are also worth a visit. Baden-Baden for example lures with its thermal baths and famous casino whilst Villingen and Freiburg have impressive old town centres and Baiersbronn is famous for its top class cuisine.     Gut gefallen hat uns auch, dass in der Kurkarte die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel (nach Freudenstadt, Pforzheim,...) enthalten waren.

    Landschaftlich wunderschöne Umgebung und ein sehr schöner Park mit einem offensichtlich uralten Baumbestand. Einkaufsmässig wird alles geboten, was für einen Urlaubsaufenthalt erforderlich ist. Leider war unser Aufenthalt zu kurz, um alles im Detail zu erkunden, aber das wird nachgeholt.

    Sehr idyllisches Kurstädtchen mit einigen Freizeitmöglichkeiten, wie z. B. die beiden Thermalbäder. Die Sommerbergbahn bringt die Gäste in nur wenigen Minuten auf den Sommerberg, von dort gibt es mehrere Möglichkeiten für wunderschöne Wanderungen mit allerbester Aussicht. Viele kleine Geschäfte laden in Bad Wildbad zum Shoppen ein. Die Cafes halten eine breite Pallette an leckeren Kuchen und Gebäck bereit. Der Kurpark ist wunderschön zum Spazierengehen und eine Oase der Erholung.

    Da die Bushaltestelle direkt vor dem Haus ist, kann man auch ohne Auto alles
    erreichen. Nicht versäumen sollte man den Palais Thermal Badetempel.
    Im Restaurant Kälbermühle kann man gut essen. Aber auch direkt im Ort gibt
    es viele Möglichkeiten, die uns die Vermieter empfohlen hatten. Der Wanderwege
    beginnt direkt hinter dem Haus. Es gibt viele kurze und auch längere Touren.
    Wir waren im Oktober dort und hatten Sommer- Herbst- und Winterwetter.
    Die Laubfärbung war einfach toll.

    Bad Wildbad ist ein Kurort, der seine beste Zeit schon hinter sich hat. Trotz so mancher Verschandelung aus den siebziger Jahren und manch renovierungsbedürftiger Häuser (und Hotels) kann man es sich dort durchaus gut gehen lassen. Zum Wandern und Spazierengehen sehr geeignet, zudem gibt es eine tolle Therme für Erwachsene und eine für die ganze Familie. Ein Besuch lohnt sich allemal.
