Holiday homes and apartments with pool in Italy!

Baedeker Allianz Travel Guide - Italy (2010), page 126

The authors Dr. Bernhard Abend and Anja Schliebitz give an impression of the country:
“Italy is not just a country – Italy is an attitude towards life. The country and its inhabitants represent a scale of different emotions that range from yearning for care-free life to an enjoyment of chaos and also include a thirst for knowledge or culinary cravings.”

Lake Garda

Amongst lemon trees and olive groves

Lake Garda looks like a sea amidst the mountains. Even Goethe praised the spectacular scenery during a stay in 1786: “How I wish my friends could be here with me for a moment so they could rejoice in this view in front of me. Tonight I could have been in Verona but this admirable natural scenery was still lying next to me. An exquisite spectacle, Lake Garda, which I did not want to miss and I was gloriously rewarded for my circuitous route.”
Until this day you are offered numerous spectacular panoramic views around Lake Garda. When standing in Riva del Garda at the northern bank of the lake and you let your gaze wander towards the south you will understand what Goethe so longingly meant. The deep blue water surface sparkles amidst steep and rugged mountain slopes surrounded by green hillsides and these only cut through occasionally by a white sailing boat. On your way to the southern bank you are spoilt for choice. There are scenic roads along the banks on both sides of the lake that lead through smaller and larger villages nestled up in the hillsides. The Gardesana Occidentale runs along the western embankment through Limone, Gargnano and Salo and passes lemon as well as olive groves which are spread out over the slopes. Driving along the other side of Gardesana Orientale you will mainly see olives growing on the hillsides which are the source of the excellent olive oil produced around Lake Garda. Especially the picturesque villages of Malcesine, Torri del Benaco and Garda are ideal for a short stroll through town. In the background ascends Monte Baldo – with more than 2,000 metre the highest mountain around the lake.
Driving further to the south the scenery becomes hilly and the rough rocks of the Alps disappear gradually. In the Po Valley the landscape is dominated by green and turquoise colours and here the lake is at its broadest without being confined by the corset of restrictive rock formations. On the south bank you are able to find the most important and well-known villages: Peschiera, Sirminone or Desenzano.
You can truly discover and experience a lot! There is way too much to list or mention here. Come and find out for yourself!
