Fairy tale palace Neuschwanstein

Anybody who is staying in the Allgäu region must plan in a visit to Neuschwanstein. Not only will small princesses and princes find this palace from King Ludwig II. to their liking. The splendid 150 year old palace is the most photographed sight in Germany surpassing the Reichstag in Berlin and the Cologne Cathedral and an attraction for many visitors from across the globe. It was the model for the palaces in Disney theme parks and is regarded as the symbolization of Romanticism. Countless exhibits and numerous imaginative decorations in the splendid rooms bring to life the dreams of the fairy tale king Ludwig II. Our tip: Choose either Pfronten or Füssen as your holiday resort then depending on the selected holiday property you will only be 10 to 20 minutes away from the palace!

    Der Ort Füssen selber ist mit seinen Bergen nicht nur an sonnigen Tagen ein echtes Panorama. Nach nur 5 min Fahrt mit dem Auto steht man nahezu mitten in der Stadt, wo man herrlich essen gehen (Gasthaus Goldene Krone - Ritteressen), ein bisschen Shoppen (Riesen Outlet-Store für Outdoorbekleidung bspw. Vaude) oder einfach nur die Seele baumeln lassen kann. Für Familien mit Kindern gibt es eine Menge Spaß (Kletterpark im Outlet-Store), Spielplätze, Badesee und vieles mehr. Ganz besonders toll ist die Umgebung für sportliche Aktivitäten, wie Wandern oder Mountainbiken. Kulturell bietet es mit den beiden Königsschlössern Neuschwanstein und Hohenschwangau jederzeit ein Super-Ausflugsziel für den ganzen Tag.

    Liegt in etwas verlassen wirkender Ferienwohnungs-Siedlung, dafür aber sehr idyllisch.

    Auch als nicht große "Wanderer" sehr schöner Ausgangspunkt für kleinere (der Weißensee an sich, Füssen, Alatsee, Neuschwanstein...) und größere (Garmisch, Zugspitze, Innsbruck) Tagestouren. Kleinere Einkaufmöglichkeit für den täglichen Bedarf vor Ort vorhanden und zu Fuß bequem erreichbar, im nahe gelegenen Füssen auch größere Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in ausreichender Anzahl, mit Fachgeschäften, Discountern und Großmärkten. Ausreichend, sehr gute gastronomische Betriebe am Ort (Fisch, gut-bürgerlich, italienisch etc.) vorhanden und bequem zu Fuß erreichbar, weiterhin eine Vielzahl in Füssen.

    Weissensee hat keinen Ortskern und nur einen kleinen Lebensmittelladen. Schöne Natur, aber nichts los und ohne Fahrten in die Umgebung - langweilig.
