Enjoy a “hyggelig” holiday in the Danish dunes

“Hyggelig” is Danish and can best be translated with the English word “cosy” but it can mean much more. Something “hyggelig” is pleasant and good. This can also apply to nice people or the picturesque Danish landscape. Or to the Danish holiday houses of course.
The choice on atraveo with around 25,000 objects is almost unlimited. Denmark is quite rightly known to be the land of the holiday homes. Most properties are located in the dunes or right at the beach and the most have more top class facilities at reasonable prices. Quite often you will find sauna, whirlpool or even a heated swimming pool in your property so that the whole family can enjoy the holiday in summer as well as in winter: The kids splash in the pool whilst the parents can relax in the sauna and the whirlpool. This way also rainy days will not spoil your holiday mood. In the evenings a crackling fire in the fire place provides a comfy atmosphere and romantic hours for two or the whole family.
Also larger parties will find Denmark “hyggelig” as the houses are not only well-equipped but there is also an extensive offer of large holiday homes which offer space for 10, 12 or even 20 persons. Very often such houses have luxuriously fittings. If travelling with a large party such houses can be rented for a relatively good price as far as costs are shared between the fellow travellers.

    In Lökken kann man sehr gut einkaufen und vor allem shoppen in der Einkaufszone. Dänemark ist naturgemäß etwas teurer als Deutschland in den Lebensmitteln, aber der Abstand wird von Jahr zu Jahr geringer. Tanken konnte man erstmals billiger als in Deutschland.

    Die Einkaufsmöglichkeit, die nur 1000 m entfernt sein soll, haben wir nicht gesehen. Wir sind ca. 6 km mit dem Auto nach Løkken gefahren, um dort bei Aldi einzukaufen. Preislich ist Dänemark ca. 30 bis 40% teurer als Deutschland. Für einen Hot Dog kann man schon mal 6,30 Euro bezahlen. Und: Vorsicht, in den Dünen gibt es Kreuzottern und können schon mal zubeißen. Wir haben in einer Woche zwei Kreuzottern rund um das Haus gesehen. Der Strand ist allerdings unschlagbar: breit, weiß, sauber und das Meer ist toll.

    Der Ort Loekken ist ganz auf Tourismus ausgelegt. Hier gibt es alle Einkaufsmöglichkeiten für den täglichen Bedarf. (Ist vom Ferienhaus aber etliche Kilometer entfernt - Nur per Fahrrad oder Auto zu erreichen - Im Feriengebiet gibt es keine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten). Die Mode und Souvenierläden sind ein bisschen "gleichgeschaltet". Die Bäckereien haben den besonders leckeren dänischen Kuchen und am Super Brugsen steht jeden Tag ein Wagen, bei dem man ganz frischen Fisch kaufen kann. In der Nähe gibt es einen Freizeitpark. Ansonsten konzentrieren sich die Aktivitäten auf den Strand und das Wasser. Eher für Erholungssuchende als für "Action" geeignet". Restaurants sind reichlich vorhanden. (Kann ich nichts drüber berichten, da wir "selbst Kocher" sind.)
