The "Wild Coast "

Due to the ragged coast as well as lively structured landscape that is overgrown with pine forests the coastline along the northeast of Spain between the French border and Barcelona is referred to as the “wild coast”. One could though also think that the name is a clue to the nightlife of this region... Many coastal resorts provide an array of options which turn night into day with Lloret de Mar leading the way. It has a seven kilometre long beach and countless number of discos, bars and clubs.
The Costa Brava experience is dominated by sun bathing on the beach but those seeking sport activities will also find the region to their liking. Nearly all resorts provide windsurfing, water ski and sailing courses. Those who want to take it easier may consider renting a pedal boat, air mattress or canoe.
Should you seek to get away from the hustle and bustle of the coastal resorts then cool off in the oak forests which are situated away from the coast and waiting to be explored. The area of Sant Pere Pescador provides visitors with a spectacular nature experience. The nature reserve Aiguamolls de L’Emporda with coastal lagoons, salt areas and dunes are not only a nesting site for many water birds but are also of great importance to the fruit growing sector. You may like to go on a quad tour and take in the delightful landscape. Of course nature conservation is an absolute priority.
Regardless whether you only intend to stay at the Costa Brava for a couple of days or planning a longer vacation one should not miss out visiting the rocky bays of Begur and Palafrugell that gave Costa Brava their name. Also worth a visit are the fish markets in Blanes and Roses.

    Der Strand war weitesgehend sauber, schade das es dort viele Hunde gab. denke das der Preis fur das Haus nicht ganz angemessen ist. sonst problemlose abwicklung. keine Probleme mit dem schlüssel oder der Reinigung.

    Schönder Strand, ca. 5 min mit dem PKW, zu Fuß etwas umständlich zu erreichen, Supermarkt - ca. 4 km entfernt. Top Restaurant - ca. 1 km entfernt, im Ort selbst - alles, was man braucht. Bodega, Pizzeria für den schnellen Hunger, schöne Cafes und Bars, Fischhandlung etc.
    Auch für Kinder super Freizeitmöglichkeiten, jeden Sonntag - Markt.

    Die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in Ordnung, wenn man über ein Auto verfügt. Ohne könnte es schon etwas schwieriger werden.

    Es gibt viele Restaurants in der Nähe durch die Strandmeile. Eins davon haben wir probiert und das war echt lecker. Nichts großes aber dann auch preislich in Ordnung (L'antiquari- zu empfehlen). Obwohl Hunde nicht an den Strand dürfen, gibt es vor diesem Restaurant eine Hundbar. Auch kinderfreundlich waren sie (ein Spielbereich drinnen und eine Vorrichtung zum Wickeln auf Nachfrage vorhanden- wobei ich nicht mal fragen musste, sie haben es gleich erkannt und sind hilfsbereit herbeigeeilt).

    Der Strand ist sauber und gemütlich. Auch nicht sehr laut obwohl die Straße in der Nähe ist. Wer das mag an der Strandmeile wird dort glücklich werden. Wir sind vier Kilometer weiter gefahren an einen Strand mit Dünen. Wir mögen es etwas naturnaher. Dort dürfen auch Hunde mit an den Strand. Er ist unbewacht, aber wirklich schön. Nur sehr windig. Eine kleine BeachBar macht das Leben dort perfekt. Kaffee ist lecker und auch die Kleinigkeiten zum Essen sind zauberhaft lecker. Selbstgemachte Sandwiches mit Baguettebrot, richtig gutem Salat, Fleisch und Soßen! Total lecker!
    Hinter St. Marti d'Empuries kommt bald eine Abzweigung in Richtung Hotel Riomar. Dahinter ist der Strand. Toll! Viele Wind- und Kitesurfer kommen dort hin! Tolle Kulisse. Wer es naturnah mag, ist hier richtig! Die Preise für Gastronomie und Lebenshaltungskosten kommen uns teurer vor als in Deutschland.
