Well worth seeing are also the various towns on the island such as Cagliari in the south of Sardinia, Sassari in the north and Olbia in the east. The island’s capital Cagliari impresses particularly with its harbour and old town situated on a hill offering breathtaking views towards the bay. Also worth a visit are the cathedral of Cagliari that combines several architectural styles and the botanical garden which is a real oasis of tranquillity amidst the city. Other exciting tourist attractions are the many limestone caves and grottos as well as the preserved structures of the Nuraghen culture who were indigenous to the island in pre-Christian times.

    Nur im Zentrum bei einem einzigen Zeitungskiosk, gibt es deutsche Zeitungen im Angebot, aber nicht jeden Tag! Zum lesen also etwas mitbringen! Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind gut und nicht so teuer (Sisa -vergleichbar mit Lidl). Gastronomie genug vorhanden, aber sehr teuer. Wir waren Selbstversorger und man kann mit 350 Euro pro Kopf für 3 Wochen super auskommen (Die Lebensmittel Qualität ist besser als bei uns).
    Sehenswürdigkeiten: Unbedingt Tagesausflug mit dem Schiff zu den atollen (25 Euro mit essen an Bord!). Sehr viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten mit dem Schiff vorhanden.
    Sportmöglichkeiten: Fahrradfahren ist sehr beliebt mit schönen Routen auf La Caprera. Angeln , wunderbare Schnorchel Gebiete rund um die Inseln und viele Strände vorhanden, aber dazu muss man motorisiert sein !
    Preisniveau: Ab 15.September ist alles viel billiger und ist nicht mehr so heiß draußen und das Wasser ist optimal (in den drei Wochen keine einzige Qualle gesehen).

There are many companies on the sea route from Italy to Sardinia as well as different ships which take from 4 to 8 hours to reach Olbia or Golfo Aranci. Whether you reach Olbia by ship or plane, from there you have to reach Palau (in front of the island of La Maddalena) in about 40 minutes. In Palau a ferry will take you in about 15 minutes to La Maddalena.
