Visit Pippi Longstocking
Småland | A very special pleasure for the entire family will be a visit to Vimmerby the birthplace of Astrid Lindgren which is in the north of Smålands. Be enchanted by the magical world of the revered Swedish author and spend some time in the theme park “Astrid Lindgrens Värld“. This theatre park brings alive many scenes and figures of the popular child book author. Look around the Villekulla Cottage, greet Emil from Lönneberga with “hej“and see how the kids from Bullerbü lived in their small village. During the theatre play spectators are actively involved and become part of the stories. The houses inside the park have been recreated with lovingly in great detail at a scale of 1:3 which is ideal for the little one who will feel comfortable here Adults though will have to in some cases crawl on knees in order to move around that can also be fun. It is a trip you should not miss out on even if kids are not travelling with you. Straight on entering the park you are in a different world and taken back to your childhood. If you want to find out more about the author then the adjacent Astrid-Lindgren-Museum is just a couple of minutes by foot.
