    10 Minuten zu Fuß zur Via Toledo (DER Einkaufstrasse). 15 Minuten zum Fährhafen nach Capri, Ischia oder Sorrento (Empfehlenswert ist, die Tickets einen Tag vorher zu kaufen; Hin-und Rückfahrt kosten ca. 35€/Person). Die Preise im Nahverkehr sind absolut günstig (90 min/1,20€). Nach Pompei fährt man mit dem Bus (R2) und ab der Stazione Centrale mit der "S-Bahn" in ca. 1 Stunde. Lebensmittel und die "schnelle Pizza vom Stand" sind sehr günstig (Bsp: 1/2 Brathähnchen mit Bratkartoffeln, eine großes 1/4 Stück Pizza, 1 kleines Bier und eine kleine Flasche Weißwein für 8,-€ in der Nähe der Funicolare-Station Montesanto). In 14 Tagen sieht man ohne Stress alle bedeutenden Sehenswürdigkeiten bis hin nach Caserta und Positano, incl. Inseln und Badetage. Wer Kleidung einkaufen will hat kein Problem (s. Via Toledo oder auch Vomero). Im Falle eines Streiks im öffentlichen Nahverkehr sind die Taxi`s im Vergleich zu Deutschland relativ preiswert.

    Lage ist gut. Direkt neben historischer Altstadt. Großer Supermarkt in direkter Nähe, alles andere auch sehr nah erhältlich (Via Toledo, Altstadt). U-Bahn zum Hauptbahnhof 10 min, (U-Bahn von Piazza Dante direkt zum Bahnhof noch im Bau...). Fußweg bis Hafen (Fähren nach Capri / Ischia / Procida / Sorrento) = 20 Min, bis Meer-Promenade (Castel dell' Ovo) = 30 min. Taxi zum / vom Flughafen = 16 EUR. Festpreis (auch wenn sicherlich Taxifahrer anderes behaupten...)

    Wir hätten eine nähere Lage zu Hafen / Meer-Promenade besser gefunden. Bei dem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis aber keine schlechte Wahl!!!

Sandwiched between a sleeping volcano and the steaming Campi Flegrei, Naples is a rumbling mass of contradictions.
Extremes are something Naples does impressively well. Grimy streets hit palm-fringed boulevards, crumbling façades hide baroque ballrooms and cultish shrines flank cutting-edge clubs. One minute you’re in dusty Tangiers, the next you’re thinking ...

Stepping onto Piazza Garibaldi from Stazione Centrale, your impression will probably be of the former. Wild traffic, shabby street stalls and smooth-talking African salesmen make for an intense introduction. To the south and southwest, the Mercato quarter is a high-octane spectacle of rough-and-ready markets, multiculturalism and poverty.
A few blocks west of Piazza Garibaldi begins the centro storico (historic centre). Dense, dark and intoxicating, its ancient Greek streets teem with tourists, scooters, shrines and secret hidden treasures.
At its western edge, shop-heavy Via Toledo stretches from Piazza Trieste e Trento in the south to Parco di Capodimonte in the north; its chic southern end is a favourite haunt for sfogliatella-munching shopaholics. Immediately to the west lie the mean, washing-strung streets of the Quartieri Spagnoli.
South of Via Toledo, regal Santa Lucia boasts the mighty Piazza del Plebiscito, Palazzo Reale and world opera great Teatro San Carlo. Close at hand, Castel Nuovo (Maschio Angioino) looms over Piazza del Municipio like a giant toy castle.
Looking down on it all is middle-class Vomero, a leafy concoction of gorgeous Liberty villas, soulless apartment blocks and the hulking Castel Sant’Elmo.
West of Piazza del Plebiscito, upmarket Chiaia is Naples’ heart of cool, its sleek shops and bars stretching west towards the bobbing-boat port of Mergellina. From here, posh Posillipo climbs the promontory separating the Bay of Naples from the Bay of Pozzuoli. Beyond it lies the Campi Flegrei, a volcanic sprawl of classical ruins, sulphurous steam and sexy summertime beach clubs.

Wonderful location with all the smells and sounds of the old city of Sofia Loren in the famous film “ L’oro di Napoli”.
On Saturday night a lady in the street fries a fantastic pizza to make you happy and worm.
We are at a few steps from all the public means of transport, from via Toledo, the street of shops full of sales till the end of January.
At about 20 meters there is the old house where the great poet Giacomo Leopardi spent most of his time in Naples.
One double-bed room with a balcony, a bathroom with shower, basin, bidet and WC with a window, a living room with a kitchen corner ( about 65 square meters) with a window and a balcony.

You can reach the harbour and sail to the islands (Capri, Ischia, Procida) walking about ten minutes.
Being on the third floor (unfortunately no lift) Alice’s Home is very quiet and you enjoy a full-scape view of the Gulf of Naples with the Vesuvio on the back ground.

It’s not possible to park any car in the maze of the old city but we can suggest you a safe parking place
