Enjoy a “hyggelig” holiday in the Danish dunes

“Hyggelig” is Danish and can best be translated with the English word “cosy” but it can mean much more. Something “hyggelig” is pleasant and good. This can also apply to nice people or the picturesque Danish landscape. Or to the Danish holiday houses of course.
The choice on atraveo with around 25,000 objects is almost unlimited. Denmark is quite rightly known to be the land of the holiday homes. Most properties are located in the dunes or right at the beach and the most have more top class facilities at reasonable prices. Quite often you will find sauna, whirlpool or even a heated swimming pool in your property so that the whole family can enjoy the holiday in summer as well as in winter: The kids splash in the pool whilst the parents can relax in the sauna and the whirlpool. This way also rainy days will not spoil your holiday mood. In the evenings a crackling fire in the fire place provides a comfy atmosphere and romantic hours for two or the whole family.
Also larger parties will find Denmark “hyggelig” as the houses are not only well-equipped but there is also an extensive offer of large holiday homes which offer space for 10, 12 or even 20 persons. Very often such houses have luxuriously fittings. If travelling with a large party such houses can be rented for a relatively good price as far as costs are shared between the fellow travellers.

    Es gibt alles, was man braucht, aber die Orte in der Nähe (Rodhus, Hune und Blokhus) sind sehr touristisch. Es gibt kaum landestypische Spezialitäten und die Supermärkte haben nur das Nötigste. Unternehmungsmöglichkeiten gibt es dagegen einige.

    Heerlijk vlak bij het strand gelegen, iedere dag even een wandeling en/of zonsondergang bekijken. Wel voor de boodschappen even naar Hune of Blokhus.

    Wir kommen jedes Jahr nach Rödhus, weil wir die Ruhe mögen und man den Strand fast für sich alleine hat. Außerdem ist der Strand an dieser Stelle nicht so stark von Autos befahren, da es keine direkte Strandzufahrt gibt. Dafür braucht man zum Einkaufen ein Auto, da es bis Hune/ Blokhus 6 km sind. Rödhus selber bietet keine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Aber im nahegelegenen Blokhus gibt es ein reichhaltiges Unterhaltungsangebot. Speziell für Kinder wird in der Ferienzeit viel angeboten.

    Direkte Nähe zum befahrbaren Strand und einige wenige Angebote in der Umgebung von 15 Kilometer lassen die Gegend akzeptieren. Geld vom Automaten gibt es nur bei der Sparkasse und auch leider nur zwei Märkte zum Einkaufen in Blokhus - für diese Gegend zu wenig und das merkt man auch - die Läden sind völlig überlaufen.

    Ruhige Lage, doch weit weg von Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, der Strand war auch recht weit weg, doch es gab eine Schaukel.
