Spain‘s white coast

The “white coast” around the port town of Alicante owes its name to the traditional white washed houses found in this region. Equally though the long white sandy beaches are a feature of Costa Blanca.
Many towns and villages have sought to retain their typical traditional character and limit the effects of mass tourism as much as possible. Here Denia can be given as an example which is a town full of vitality and colour. On a hill one is able to find the ruins of a castle from where one also has a fantastic view over the town and marina. A small fishing village fits into the picturesque setting of the town. When the fishers return back in the evening one is able to witness the turbulent scenes of a traditional fish market. The caught crawfish are appreciated beyond the boundaries of this city. Probably one of the most well known towns along the Costa Blanca is Benidorm. Enticed by the extensive bay and sheer endless overtures to revellers the place welcomes around 4 million tourists each year. Also a very popular resort is Calpe that is situated at the sea near a steep volcano rock. A particularly interesting day trip would be the park El Palmeral in Elche that has more than 200,000 palm trees and is the largest palm garden in the world. The palm trees blend in perfectly with the townscape of Elche and at a distance you would think it is actually a forest.

    Rojales ist... nun, ja, wie soll ich es sagen... noch im Aufbau! Viel zu karge Landschaft in der Siedlung, ist aber alles, was man braucht, da. Pubs und SouvenirlLaden. Tabaco-Laden, Zeitungsladen mit int. Presse. Ein sehr gutes Pizza-Restaurant, "Estella", glaube ich, hieß es. Aber ansonsten alles in englischer Hand. Strand ist leider sehr öde, keine Promenade oder ein paar Bars, eine kleine Bude mit saftigen Preisen ist alles, und die Liegen mit Schirm sind ehrlich gesagt ein Witz. Außerdem gibt es keine Duschen am Strand! Ebensowenig, wie eine normale Toilette, nur ein Dixi-Baustellending, was wohl auch nicht täglich gereinigt wird.

    Rojales ist kein Ort für Kultur-Touristen, sondern ein typischer spanischer Vorort. Positiv: gute Supermärkte, Apotheke, Reformhaus, jeden Donnerstag ein empfehlenswerter Markt für alle Produkte, die man über die Woche braucht und alles ist leicht zu finden. Außerdem: unkomplizierter WLAN-Zugang in Pub am Golfplatz (ca. 1 km vom Haus) mit freundlichem Personal

    Guardamar est une trés jolie plage, sinon Royales rien à voir.

    Alles was aanwezig en we hebben niets gemist. De supermarkt en restaurants waren op loop afstand vollop aanwezig. Het strand was met 15 minuten met de auto binnen bereik.
