Enjoy a “hyggelig” holiday in the Danish dunes

“Hyggelig” is Danish and can best be translated with the English word “cosy” but it can mean much more. Something “hyggelig” is pleasant and good. This can also apply to nice people or the picturesque Danish landscape. Or to the Danish holiday houses of course.
The choice on atraveo with around 25,000 objects is almost unlimited. Denmark is quite rightly known to be the land of the holiday homes. Most properties are located in the dunes or right at the beach and the most have more top class facilities at reasonable prices. Quite often you will find sauna, whirlpool or even a heated swimming pool in your property so that the whole family can enjoy the holiday in summer as well as in winter: The kids splash in the pool whilst the parents can relax in the sauna and the whirlpool. This way also rainy days will not spoil your holiday mood. In the evenings a crackling fire in the fire place provides a comfy atmosphere and romantic hours for two or the whole family.
Also larger parties will find Denmark “hyggelig” as the houses are not only well-equipped but there is also an extensive offer of large holiday homes which offer space for 10, 12 or even 20 persons. Very often such houses have luxuriously fittings. If travelling with a large party such houses can be rented for a relatively good price as far as costs are shared between the fellow travellers.

    Auf Sehenswürdigkeiten und großes Kulturangebot haben wir kein wirklichen Wert gelegt, ehrlich gesagt weiß ich auch nicht ob die Gegend was zu bieten hat, aber darauf kam es wie gesagt auch nicht an. Im Nachbarort ist eine Einkaufsmöglichkeit die alles nötige bietet und vollkommen ausreicht. Uns war es wichtiger und ausreichend im Haus die Zeit zu verbringen, wer mehr plant/ will muss sich bestimmt vorher mal informieren was es noch so in der Nähe gibt.

    Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall ein Auto mit dabei zu haben. Im nahen Umkreis liegt ein kleines Dorf mit einem kleinen Supermarkt. Alles ist machbar/erreichbar, aber mit einem Auto ist es leichter und unabhängiger, zumal das Dan Center einige Kilometer entfernt liegt (Schlüsselübergabe und Bezahlung der Kaution).

    Steinberg ist ein kleiner Ort und befindet sich mitten im Naturschutzgebiet (Dünenfelder). Zum Strand sind es ca. 2 Km. Der Strand ist Traumhaft, jedoch Badeschuhe sind angebracht, kleine Kiesel am Ufer. Die Dünenfelder sind einzigartig und ziehen sich die Küste entlang. Fahrradwege sind toll ausgebaut.
