Are holiday homes actually a Danish invention? One could easily come to this assumption considering the enormous choice: More than 25,000 holiday apartments and houses in Jutland, on Seeland, Funen, Lolland, Falster or Bornholm provide pure holiday pleasure for everytime of the year. By the way no place in Denmark is further than 50 kilometres away from the sea!

“Hyggelig” is Danish and can best be translated with the English word “cosy” but it can mean much more. Something “hyggelig” is pleasant and good. This can also apply to nice people or the picturesque Danish landscape. Or to the Danish holiday houses of course.
