Beautiful holiday cottage in a picturesque setting
Quietly set within easy reach of many attractions, this cottage is all on one level and has Dinefwr Castle as a backdrop. Nestling in the peaceful, unspoilt countryside of the Towy Valley and overlooked by the magnificent 12th-century Dinefwr Castle, these three semi-detached holiday cottages occupy an idyllic rural setting. It is only 2.5 miles from Llandeilo, which has a good range of independent shops, cafe's restaurants and galleries.
This is an ideal base for visiting Wales. It is within easy reach of the breathtaking scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the beaches of west Wales and the splendid gardens of the Towy Valley. The National Botanic Gardens of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens are just minutes away. The bustling town of Carmarthen and the city of Swansea are both easily reached by car. It is only 7.5 miles from the M4, making it a great spot for exploring a larger area including the Gower Coastline and Pembrokeshire. It is only and hour and a quarter to Cardiff, so it is quite possible to include as a day trip.
Named after local castles, Carreg Cennen, Dinefwr and Dryslwyn have been converted from original farm outbuildings. An old stone threshing barn has been converted into a games room with table tennis, snooker and a selection of children’s toys. The cottages are all single-storey and built of traditional Welsh stone. Each has its own parking and patio area with garden furniture, set around a central courtyard next to an old orchard where guests can barbecue in the summer, pick fruit in the autumn or simply watch the deer grazing at dusk. Guests can enjoy themselves fishing on the renowned River Towy, bird watching (red kite can often be seen hovering over Dinefwr Castle) and walking. Beach 18 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
There is ample space for parking on site. Beyond the courtyard is a large enclosed paddock where you are able to let your dog off the lead should you wish. There are three picnic tables within the paddock and through a small gate there is an orchard where you can pick your own apples in the autumn.
There is a separate games room with a pool table, table tennis and darts. There are also a selection of books and children's toys to play with. This is a great space on a rainy day or just to keep the children entertained while you get on with dinner.
Otherwise known as the 'Garden of Wales', Carmarthenshire is a must see on your list of places to visit. It has a wealth of history, castles, good food, amazing scenery and gardens and wonderful people.
We are only 15 minutes form the M4 which means we are conveniently situated so that you can easily explore a broader area such as Swansea and the Gower peninsular, Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan and west towards Pembrokeshire. It is a great base to explore in every direction.
