The house is on the north coast of Corfu in the Acharavi tourist area in quiet surroudings outside of the locality. Owing to the elevated location you can enjoy a wonderful view of the sea and the Almiros plain.

There are a total of three buildings on the site about 50 metres apart. The surrounding shared garden is well-tended and is nestled into lush vegetation, orange and lemon trees, providing deckchairs, an outdoor shower and a children’s playground with a swing. There are also parking spaces on site.

The sea has crystal clear water and the beach stretches ten kilometres. The locality offers a wide range of shops, souvenir shops, restaurants and discos, as well as banks, doctors and car rental services. The nearest bar is just 100 metres away and the nearest supermarket is 50 metres away. A bus runs into the town of Corfu five times a day, as well as to the seaside resorts of Sidari and Kasiopi.     “The apartment and the property are by and large as described here, it is all quite simple, but very well maintained and quite adequate. The beds are very comfortable. In midsummer, the air conditioners in the bedrooms are recommended. We did not use the TV. Towels are changed every few days or as needed and once in two weeks were - with advance notice - the beds freshly made and the apartment cleaned.

    The terrace is wonderfully shady throughout the day due to the northern location. Due to the location on a hill you always have a bit of draft and a very nice view including sunset. The is from the sitting / barbecue area in the garden even more beautiful to watch.

    A note on the description: A mosquito screen is only in the bathroom. So you should turn off the lights in the evening when you open the windows.

    The landlady and her mother live with a small family over the apartment and are very nice and helpful and speak very good English. When we were initially plagued by the mosquitoes, we were provided with various resources and tips, esp. For the children, and then had no more problems. There were regular fresh eggs from the neighbors, once also pears. We were able to pick figs and even a few grapes directly in the beautiful garden. There was always someone approachable, if necessary by mobile phone.

    The two free-to-use pools in 200m and 400m away are in Appartmentanlagen, there is also a pool bar or -restaurant. We found both systems very pleasant. It was never crowded despite high season. At the beach in 700m distance there are a few beach chairs and umbrellas for rent (or free for consumption or after 17:00). The pebble beach in about 700m distance is very spacious and never crowded. A bit to the east are 3 beach taverns / bars with good food and a small section with chairs and umbrellas.”

    “Clean and generally well-equipped studio. Lovely, large, mostly private patio area. Relatively spacious given that this was a studio. Owners very friendly and helpful. Accommodation is set in olive grove area with a quite open aspect across mainly fields towards the beach area. Facilities in the studio include shower, wc and washbasin; oven with hob; a range of cooking utensils and cutlery; sandwich maker and coffee maker. Air conditioning is payable extra. This property is more in Almiros than Aharavi. Aharavi itself, whilst it could be walked, is reached via a quietish coastal road or the fairly busy upper main road. There are not really any paths and there are bends. There is a small supermarket just behind the apartments and the bus stop just beside this. There is a friendly taverna about 100 metres away on the main road and two or three good restaurants nearer the beach which is approx 250 metres away reached via a decent local road. Beach is part sand/part shingle.”
