Rattelvitz consists of the manor house with its surrounding fields that stretch as far as the Baltic Sea bodden. It is in the midst of the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft nature reserve, surrounded by water, fields and forest, away from noise and stress. Enjoy the short distance (700m) to the Baltic Sea bodden, the open view over the water as far as Ummanz and the Hiddensee lighthouses.

The estate that had been family-owned since 1938 and was expropriated in 1960 was returned to the descendants of the owner’s grandfather, Heinrich Haupt, in 1990. During the renovation until mid-2005, special importance was attached to the choice of materials and the naturalness and authenticity of the building materials. Old limestone walls, wooden floorboards, tiles, silicate paints, old furniture and porcelain electrics from the time around 1900, coupled with modern comfort, are intended to create a historical and pleasant ambience.
It is a high-quality holiday apartment for a family holiday or leisurely stay in a comprehensively renovated and stand-alone historical manor house of a high standard. You can reside like at the previous turn of the century with the comfort of today. The listed manor house is situated in the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft national park and offers you not only peace and quiet but also wellness with saunas and a sun bench.

The large park-like garden (15,000m²) all around the manor house offers plenty of space for sunbathing and relaxing. You can read a good book outside in the garden of simply enjoy the nature around you and let your mind wander. On warm summer days you can have breakfast or grill in your own outdoor area with a private atmosphere. Owing to the virtually absent car traffic, the whole site is suitable for children of all ages. Children can run around and play in the big garden with a climbing frame, swing and sandpit and they can explore the area. Older children can play football on the north side or enjoy the trampoline. Younger children play on the south side, always within sight of the parents in the outdoor sitting areas. If the weather is not so sunny, children of all ages can enjoy the playing barn or the big sauna in the annex with a relaxation room, sauna, solarium and reading area where you are sure to find something suitable among the more than 1000 books. The playing barn is in the BirkenStall with a corner for toddlers, a reading area, an indoor trampoline, table football and table tennis. There is a car parking garage and an e-charging station.

The Rattelvitz manor holiday house has been classified as 4-star by the DTV. Apart from a fully-equipped kitchen with a thermomixer (on request), there are also daylight bathrooms with a sauna.
The accesses, including to the outdoor sitting areas, the garage and the playing barn BirkenStall, are suitable for wheelchairs and wheeled walkers.
The special feature of the location of the Rattelvitz estate is the absolute peace and quiet. You are woken by birds in the morning. It is not rare to see hares or deer on the meadows around the estate.

Rattelvitz, which consists solely of the stand-alone manor house, is situated in the midst of the Mecklenburg Vorpommern nature reserve. Rattelvitz is in the west of the island, the quieter part, in the midst of the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft nature reserve, away from noise and hustle and bustle. Treat yourself to peacefulness and seclusion according to the motto: Rügen – Peace – Rattelvitz.
Three kilometres from Rattelvitz is the village of Gingst with shopping facilities and restaurants. Up until today, Gingst has retained its historical character that goes back to its medieval roots. Not only the round market square with its houses, but also the craft ateliers bear testimony to the village as a former artisanal centre on Rügen. You can set out on hikes and cycle tours through the forest directly from the house. For example, you can cycle as far as the beautiful island of Ummanz that is 6km from Rattelvitz, where you can swim at the little beach or go windsurfing. If you would like to spend a beach day by the sea, the owners recommend driving to the Juliusruh Baltic Sea beach 37kmaway, where a beautiful long white sandy beach awaits you, an ideal trip destination on a warm summer day. A few kilometres from Rattelvitz you can go horse riding. It is 3km from Rattelvitz to the centre of Gingst with restaurants and shops, as well as the largest leisure park on Rügen that is definitely worth a visit. It is also 3km to a farm shop and a ‘green market’ with regional products directly from the rural areas, as well as the Jacobikirche baroque church building: one of the oldest single-naïve sacral buildings on Rügen. The largest leisure park on Rügen with miniatures of famous world buildings, Rügen on a scale of 1:25, children’s playing attractions, a park train and small animal zoo is about 2km away.
The whole west side of the island is known for its rural idyll by the bodden and the resting place for migrating cranes. Natural spectacles are offered here by the trumpet-like calls of the cranes especially in the spring and autumn.
Bus schedules vary according to the holiday periods and there are stops in Varbelvitz (around 2km) and Gingst (around 3km).
Two golf courses each with 36 holes are within 30-60 minutes or you can practice teeing off right in front of the mano house. You can learn kite surfing, go riding, swimming, cycling, hiking on some new and well-developed paths, walk along endless fields always near the water, or countless riding possibilities await you.

A holiday apartment in a manor house on Rügen

This is one of a total of three exclusive holiday apartments in a manor house in Gingst – Rattelvitz. This apartment is in the middle, on the ground floor. It is accessed through the main entrance.

The apartment is furnished with antique and modern furniture. The special atmosphere and attention to detail will delight you. The normal occupancy of the apartment is two people. It provides generous rooms with plenty of daylight, exuding a sense of well-being. There is no mainline phone connection, but there is modern technology in the form of wireless Internet access, a radio and satellite TV. The living room provides seating and the kitchen space includes a stove, a coffee machine, a fridge, a microwave and a dishwasher, as well as a dining space. The bedroom has a double bed measuring 200 x 200cm. The bathroom has an exclusive white designer bath and there is a sauna in the annex, which you can enjoy on cool evenings. On warm summer days you can enjoy grilling in the outside seating area. Pets are not allowed.
