A holiday home in Aust-Agder
The most attractive cities in which to book a holiday home in Aust-Agder are Grimstad, Arendal, Risør, Lillesand and Tvedestrand. Arendal, the largest city in the region, is the ideal place to book a holiday apartment or a holiday house. Visit the Trefoldighetskirken, a church in the heart of the town, the Store Torungen Lighthouse or its twin, the Lille Torungen Lighthouse, both of which can be reached by boat from the city centre. Take a trip to Merdø, an island where you can visit the museum and its many beaches. Originally named ‘Sanden’, the small city of Lillesand is a great place to rent a holiday house and visit the myriad attractions scattered amongst the city. Visit the Lillesand Town and Maritime Museum in the heart of the city or spend a day in the Norwegian National Park. To learn more about the 18th century and its heritage, head to Risør. The best time to visit
Aust-Agder has a pleasant climate in both the summer and winter months. The summer season offers warmer temperatures and is popular among visitors as can be seen from the many yachts to be found along the coast. Whilst in the summer travellers rent holiday houses along the coast, during winter, a holiday rental near the mountains is preferred. Visit Aust-Agder for its varied landscape, rich culture and long history. The region offers many outdoor and indoor recreational opportunities.
