This is how holiday rental owners described Furore

Furore it named after "the sound of the waves in the plane of the subject valley odonsi the raging sea." It 'was, for its particular physical-geographical location, an impregnable stronghold even at the time of the Saracen invasions. The fjord, one of the most picturesque in Italy, has always been ...

a natural harbor in which unfolded thrived and developed the oldest forms of industrial activities, such as paper mills and mills.
It 'also known by the nickname of "the country that there is no", since there is not a real village and the houses sprout isolated from the rocky ridges. Is also a unique open-air art gallery consists of over one hundred "artist's walls," murals and sculptures that make Furore a "painted village" that tells its story in this way. The municipal area includes the coastal area of the fjord, on the border with Praiano and Conca dei Marini, up to an altitude of about 600 meters s.l.m., close to the mountains of Agerola.
The earliest records indicate the town of Furore as a simple farmhouse of the Royal town of Amalfi: for this reason, some people suggests that there dwelled the escapees, exiles and outcasts of society, sent to live away from city, in an inhospitable place, sparsely populated and lacking land to cultivate. And 'again it mentioned in the land registry carolino of 1752. In the fifties of the twentieth century did Furore backdrop to the passionate and tormented love story between the director Roberto Rossellini and Anna Magnani.
But it is the environment, in its powerful and ostentatious wild beauty, the main attraction of this "country-not country" framed by beautiful views: the olive trees, the terraced vineyards on the mountainside, the pergolas of lemons with strained networks on poles, the red roofs and colorful majolica small steeples, the colorful flowers of the wild brambles, and the blue sea, always there, down there, in the corner.
Among the major historical sites, architectural and natural, include:
- The Church of St. James the Apostle (or Holy Jaco), dating from the eleventh century and built on an existing rock chapel. It is flanked by a bell tower with several floors topped by a majolica spiers. During the last restoration, in the spaces below the right side aisle, they were brought to light a school of Giotto frescoes depicting scenes from the life of Santa Margherita.
- The Church of San Michele Arcangelo, in baroque style, albeit elementary, it has three naves with pointed arches supported by baseless columns with simple capitals;
- The Church of St. Elias, which dates back to the thirteenth century, and made of a device with respect to the location of the town area, preserves inside a precious wooden triptych representing the Madonna with the Saints by Angelo Antonello Elia and Bartholomew (1479) by Capua;
- The Church of Santa Maria;
- The Hermitage of Santa Barbara, rock early medieval monastic site of which now remain only some interesting ruins, including those of the church, half-hidden by the bush, near the cave of Santa Barbara, (like other caves in the area) by the monks;
- The Fjord of Furore, deep cleft in the rock, at the mouth of a steep valley to the sea, where it picked up in the past a small and quaint fishing village. Among the picturesque monazzeni began the stormy relationship between Roberto Rossellini and "Nannarella", during the filming of the movie "Love".
Houses an interesting eco-museum consists of various sections: the drying, the paper-mill, the herbarium and Costadiva Museum.
Bypassed by the main road through a suspension bridge 30 meters high, on the first Sunday in July, it takes here a stage of Marmeeting (High Diving Championship from Great Heights).
