Vacation in a holiday home in the Gdańsk Bay
Named after a nearby Polish city, Gdańsk Bay is on the southeastern side of the Baltic Sea. Many important ports and cities line its coast, such as Gdynia, Gdańsk and Sopot which bustle with holiday-makers throughout the year. It is no wonder that one can find many good holiday houses and holiday rentals here.
Things to do
At Gdańsk Bay, holiday-makers can indulge in a variety of water sports that involve sailboats, catamarans and power boats, which are all readily available to rent. Many holiday rentals also take care of the bookings. Day-long cruises, perfect for the entire family, can also be arranged by holiday houses on request.
Bird-watchers will have an exciting time around the bay as over 300 species of birds can be found here. One can look for holiday homes close to areas where birds are usually spotted.
Things to see
Holiday-makers can see Soldek, the first steamship built in Poland after the Second World War at the Maritime Museum near the Gdańsk Bay. There are plenty of affordable holiday homes close to this spot.
Every year in September, the locals host the Bay of Gdańsk Days when many sporting, recreational and cultural activities are held. Holiday-makers should book holiday apartments well in advance if they plan to visit during the time of the fest. It might be a good idea to take a vacation in a holiday home near the event venue, but those travelling on a shoestring budget can look at holiday apartments a little farther away.
Easily reachable from any other city in Poland, Gdańsk Bay has something for everyone - natural beauty, water sport activities and a thriving nightlife in the areas that surround it. There are plenty of holiday houses in Gdańsk Bay to suit every need and budget.
