    “Hjelsminde has a small camping supermarket, a snack bar and restaurant nothing else. Supermarket and gas station in next village Hjels. Christianfeld is nice place with museum, supermarkets and cafes / restaurant. Closest larger town is Kolding with shops and restaurants, castle was disappointing.

    Have been renting houses for years, sometimes with Novasol, but they were considerably better”

    “There are several smaller shops nearby. The next largest community is Christiansfeld about 7km. A larger city is Kolding which is about 15km away. For kids there is mini golf, a swimming pool in Kolding, the sea and of course Legoland in Billund about 80km away and a zoo in Odens (Europe's most beautiful zoo 2015-2017). Unfortunately, we had no luck with the weather ... continuous rain gusts of wind. The place is rather quiet and invites you to relax.”

    “It is a rather quiet place with few shops. For a relaxing holiday with children very well suited. Despite high season we were on the beach (near the house) often under us. If you are traveling by car, Hejlsminde is well suited as a starting point for excursions, even to Römö it is only one and a half hours and the absolute highlight Legoland and the highly recommended Gidskup Zoo are also just an hour away.”
