The charming city of Lazise exhibits the best that the Lake Garda region has to offer. In the city, you’ll find a charming old town centre with narrow winding streets and medieval squares, whilst the backdrop of Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake, only adds to the serenity of Lazise. What to Do in Lazise
Lazise may be a compact and laid-back city, but it does not disappoint when it comes to attractions. There are many great things to do here, including visiting famous villas, seeking thrills in nearby amusement parks, or simply enjoying the welcoming restaurants and cafés dotted around the port and streets of the historic old town. Just 7 km north of the centre is one of the best amusement parks in Europe, Gardaland, featuring 33 rides. There’s an aquarium here too, and a great programme of family-friendly, effects-laden shows. Architectural delights in the area include Villa La Pergola, which dates back to 1500, and the Customs House, a building from the 14th century once used to control the trade along Lake Garda.
When to Visit Lazise
Lazise’s climate is influenced by the lake and surrounding mountains, and as such the weather can be quite different from elsewhere in the Veneto region. Winter can be a little chilly, with snowfall not uncommon, whilst temperatures in summer average at a pleasant 25 degrees. Late spring and early autumn are considered the best times to rent a flat, when the area experiences great weather and is quieter than during peak summer season.
