    “For us as a family the place Moniga del Garda was optimal. Shops are available within 5 km much - always depends on what you want. Even those who are active in sports can go hiking, swimming or cycling in the area - you just have to inform yourself in advance.
    Places of interest there are plentiful in the closer surroundings or one drives simply one hour & is fast in the north of the Gardasee. Small excursions with children are definitely possible, as you have to read a bit about the region before & at some attractions it is better to book them beforehand & save money.
    For Lake Garda, you should definitely not forget - BAD SHOES!

Desenzano offers the best nightlife experience in the Lake Garda area, stroll down the promenade for an aperitivo in one of the trendy bars, dine in one of the al fresco terrazza's restaurants, and then you can hit the night bars, pubs, discos and clubs nearby, for an unforgettable short break or holiday experience. The ancient fortified town of Sirmione, located on the south of the lake is home to the Virgilio & Catullo Spa Complexes, where you can enjoy one of the oldest Spa's in Italy. The picturesque Scaligero castle dates from the 13th century. The Roman villa was home to the poet Catullus. Gardagolf Country Club Experts consider GARDA GOLF one of the best golf courses built over the past 10 years. It stretches over an area of 110 hectares and was designed by British golfing architects. The Garda Golf Country Club is a 27-hole golf course which spreads between the Rocca di Manerba, the Castle of Soiano and the Valtenesi hills, and offers a breathtakingly beautiful panorama. The Vittoriale, the impressive monument located in the hills of Gardone Riviera, deserves to be described as a citadel which was constructed following the wishes and plans of the poet Gabriele d'Annunzio (1863-1938). These and further curiosities are exhibited in a 9 hectare large green oasis with Mediterranean vegetation– even the Vittoriale park and the private gardens have a historical context. The building Prioria, which was restructured and furnished according to plans by d'Annunzio, gives an insight into the poet’s life and into a whole epoch – the original furnishing and the collections of valuable objects reflect the poet’s personality and his “inimitable life”. The Moniga del Garda area The centre of Moniga del Garda is dominated by the medieval castle which stand opposite Campo dei Re. Moniga is also known as Citta' del Chiaretto, or Town of Chiaretto a rose' wine produced in the area with Groppello vines. Every summer at the end of June, a festival is held to promote the Chiaretto wine from the Valtenesi area. Moniga also offers excellent facilities including bank, post-office, and tourist information office. The surrounding area is known as The Valtenesi dominated by terraces of olive trees and vineyards. From Campo dei Re take a short stroll to the beach or to the harbour where you can swim or hire a speed boat. Moniga del Garda is also an excellent base if you want to take a day-trip to Venice, Milan, Verona or Mantua. A network of ferries takes you from Moniga to few destinations on the lakeshores including Sirmione, Riva del Garda and Limone del Garda. In April the biggest wine fair in Italy is held in Verona, Vinitaly attracts visitors worldwide. Valpolicella region, where Amarone and Ripasso wines are produced, is about 30 minutes drive from Moniga.

There is plenty to do if you love water sports and we even have golf courses close by. Moniga del Garda is also an excellent base if you want to take a day-trip to Venice, Milan, Verona and Mantova.
