Spare your time also to visit the several baroque villages in the nearby, among which Modica, Ragusa Ibla, Scicli, besides Ortigia (the old Siracusa) and its Greek Theatre, Ispica Caves, Cava Grande del Cassibile, and many many others. We suggest you to spend at least two weeks in this astonishing part of Sicily, the minimum to enjoy its masterpieces and its inimitable cookery!
Do not miss the famous and suggestive "Infiorata", a picturesque festival to welcome the Spring, which takes place every third Sunday of May, since 1980. Local artists work nightime to prepare colourful real flowers carpets all over the streets, every year with a different theme. The whole week is animated by concerts, exhibitions and festivals.
