The Thuringian Forest is an uninterrupted stretch of curved mountains, stretching from northwest to southeast in Thuringia, Germany. Much of its highest point is covered with thick pines and firs. The forest is 35 km wide, and is also referred to as the green heart of Germany. One can rent holiday apartments and holiday houses in the Thuringian Forest to stay close to nature. Some Germans believe that the forest is so charming that it has inspired many a people such as famous composer Johann Sebastian Bach, born in the nearby town of Eisenach.
