“There are several supermarkets within walking distance of the apartment. The sea is also within walking distance. If you feel like strolling along the beach and want an extensive choice of terraces, you can do so on the island. If you want to go into the city, walk from the apartment to the old bridge of Trogir. Along the way you can see the runway of Split airport. Very nice.
It is recommended to rent a scooter and explore the island of Ciovo. Of course that is also possible with the car.
The apartment is in a quiet location but if you want to look for the crowds, that's no problem.”

Due to its location and natural protection, its nautical port is a favorite destination. Trogir is a remarkable example of urban continuity. The orthogonal street plan of this island settlement dates back to the Hellenistic period and it was embellished by successive rulers with many fine public and domestic buildings and fortifications. Its beautiful Romanesque churches are complemented by the outstanding Renaissance and Baroque buildings from the Venetian period.
If we add to that all those sunny days, that's an ideal destination for adventurous exploration of Dalmatia, lazy vacation, an escape from the mainland and wandering through its waters. Rent a boat and explore the nearby islands when the sea is calm.

Trogir was founded by the Greek colonists in the 3rd century BC. Throughout the history it was occupied by the Romans, the Byzantines, the Hungarians, the Venetians and Napoleon. Culture, humanism and architecture flourished here in the middle Ages; bulwarks and a tower which were built at that time within the ancient town nucleus defined its outlines. Trogir is today on the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage as the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic town in Central Europe.

the Greek settlers who came from the island of Vis and is one of the oldest cities in Mediterranean. The name Trogir most likely comes from the Greek name of a nearby mountain Kozjak (in free translation tragos - goat).

Town was built entirely of stone and because it preserved its antique look many visitors gave it a name “stone beauty” and “city of works of art”. The most important monument is three vaulted cathedral (13th – 15th century) with its known portal made by master Radovan in 1240.His work is a result of peculiar synthesis of Romanesque and Gothic style thus he became a trademark of Trogir’s sculpting as well as Croatian medieval art. In the mid 15th century construction of large Kamerlengo castle was completed (Camerlengo – lord’s treasurer). Within those city walls besides that fortress there were more than one gate to enter the town and above main north city gates there still stands a statue of Blessed John from Trogir (15th century). The interior of these walls is impressed with noble emblems or coats of arms which stand at the thresholds of numerous palaces and magnificent edifices that are still in great state of preservation and that once belong to respective noble families such as Small Ćipiko Palace, Great Ćipiko Palace, Lucić Palace and Garagnin Palace.
